à la carte, three exhibitions in the collective gallery guest room
The Collective Gallery invited echo to take up residence in their Guest room, where echo presented three exhibitions, showcasing two emerging artists and a selection of artists films. For starters Richard Battersby and Chris Grieves returned from London with a tropical club for Northern Europe's chilling winter, The Coma Lounge Edinburgh pampered its clientele with deluxe furnishings, seductive visuals, mouth-watering nibbles, exotic cocktails and relaxing melodies to refresh, entice and delight Northern Europe's bodies and minds. More than fifty of the region's finest minds were called upon to create specially-commissioned one minute sound pieces to complement the sights and smells. Then Darren Farquhar stepped in with his hearty main course sculptural installation and performance involving altitude, judge beastiallity and fishing rods. For pudding visitors were invited to retire to the cosy living room, fight for the remote control and view a selection of new artist films from , Kit Abramson and Laura Van Tatenhove, Sandy Christie, Samantha Clarke, Benjamin Fallon, Michael Fortune, Philip Kennedy, Sabine Klaus, Rinat Kotler, Rachel Maclean, Lyndsay Mann, Molly Mishkas, Ayaka Okutsu and Ryan Siegan-Smith, Angelo Picozzi, Catherine Street and Naomi Sex.
